July Report from Captain Lou Tirado

The fishing has remain strong in the river but low light and under the cover of darkness seem to be best so far especially for those throwing soft plastics and other artificial lures. With the rising water temperatures and the Full moon approaching be prepared for lazy hungry fish cut bait like mackerel and clams and worms will be your best bet for daylight fishing casting live deals at night will be your best bet for night fishing.

We will be seeing higher than normal tides this week as well which will pose good for those that I want to site fish the flats with weightless soft plastics and flies white and Amber Albie Snax as well as shrimp and crab flies will be your best bet for that.

Also with the full moon and then bigger tides beyond the look for some potential bluefish activity as it could bring in more bait therefore bringing in the blue fish watch your sounder troll deep diving plugs and watch for birds in deep offshore waters and that will be the telltale sign.

There have also been some small blue fin Chi on inshore Humps so if you find the right weather take a trip offshore find the whales find the bait and the small tune will be with them.

Good luck!
